The Role

The Risk and Internal Audit Manager is a pivotal role within the quality management function, reporting to the Head of Quality.  We have spent the last few years strengthening our risk management and internal audit systems and are now working on embedding our approach.  You will be at the heart of Cambridge International’s response to Covid-19, working across the whole organisation with a range of people at all levels up to Directors and CEO’s.  We are looking for an experienced Risk & Audit Manager to join the team and hit the ground running.  Since this shall be a work from home role, proximity to Cambridge is not critical.

What you will be doing

• Advising on the identification, assessment and management of risk and coordinating the tracking of risk response and actions to maintain the Cambridge International Risk Register
• Maintaining and supporting the established group of Risk Champions to embed operational risk management, and delivering risk management training to teams
• Working with Cambridge International’s business continuity champions to ensure our preparedness for the exceptional risks to the business
• Contributing to the development of our risk management framework and monitoring the application of the framework across the organisation to provide assurance to Directors of our risk management coverage and effectiveness
• Delivering the risk-based annual programme for internal audit activity, providing regular reporting on levels of assurance of conformance with our internal quality management system and against the ISO 9001 standard
• Managing the relationship with our external auditors for ISO 9001 including coordinating external audits
• Supporting and developing the internal audit team including leading quarterly catch-up and development meetings

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a qualified risk manager and/or quality auditor.  You will be highly analytical and a strong communicator with a good depth of experience.  You will have the ability to be effective and engage with staff across Cambridge International and beyond supporting our risk management approach.  A comprehensive understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, or similar frameworks, is important.  You are determined, persistent and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve objectives.  You demonstrate a high degree of organisational skills and deploy these to get things done; self-confidence and excellent influencing skills are essential.
