The IRM has announced that Socrates Coudounaris, CFIRM will step up from his position of deputy chair of the board when the current chair, Nicola Crawford, CFIRM, steps down in early May, 2018. Coudounaris is the executive director of risk for the EMEA region at Reinsurance Group of America.

Crawford is stepping down to pursue business opportunities and has devoted a considerable amount of her professional time to the Institute with a positive impact.

Crawford said: “It is with significant regret that I am stepping down as the IRM chair. I have enjoyed the role and will continue to remain involved with the IRM supporting various initiatives, as well as being an advisory member of the ERM in Banking and Financial Services SIG and the IRM Turkey Regional Group”.

Coudounaris and Crawford are currently working through their transition plan to ensure that there is a smooth handover.

Coudounaris would to thank Crawford on behalf of the board and senior management team for her dedication and contribution to the IRM and looks forward to taking on his role.
